Disasters in the RM of Reynolds can occur in many forms. Natural Hazards such as Floods, Grass and Forest Fires and Technological Hazards such as Train Derailments and Hazardous materials spills are a possibility.
The residents along with their livestock, pets and hobby farm animals are of prime concern to the RM. Being prepared for an emergency is a personal responsibility.
If an emergency happens in your community, it may take emergency workers some time to reach you. You should be prepared to take care of yourself, your family and your pets for a minimum of 72 hours.

Hazardous chemicals are sometimes accidentally released during manufacturing, storage or transportation, such as during a train derailment. Here are some things to consider when there is a chemical release.
Emergency responders are trained to identify hazards and provide appropriate guidance to the public. In some situations, you should seal yourself inside the building you are in (Shelter-in-place). Other times, you may be instructed to go to higher elevations or evacuate the area.
