Mandatory Registration for the 2026 General Municipal Election

Please be advised that the next General Municipal Election for the RM of Reynolds will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

In accordance with The Municipal Act, all prospective municipal election candidates must officially register with the Senior Election Official (SEO) during the specific registration periods outlined below. This registration is a legal requirement that must be completed before a candidate may begin accepting campaign contributions, incurring any expenses, fundraising, or borrowing money for their campaign.

Notice is Hereby Given that the Senior Election Official will be receiving candidate registrations for the following offices during the specified windows:

  • For the Office of Head of Council / Reeve: Between May 1, 2026, and September 22, 2026.

  • For the Office of Councillor: Between June 30, 2026, and September 22, 2026.

Filing Details

Registrations will be accepted at the RM of Reynolds Office during regular business hours:

  • Location: RM of Reynolds Office – 45030 Highway 11, Hadashville, Manitoba

  • Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Monday through Friday) excluding Statutory Holidays

Candidate Registration Requirements

To register, a prospective candidate must complete Form 11A (Registration of Prospective Candidate). The registration form requires the following information:

  • The candidate’s name and contact information.

  • The specific office for which the candidate is seeking election.

  • If the candidate intends to receive contributions, the name of the financial institution and the campaign bank account number where those funds will be held.

  • The name and contact information of the candidate’s official agent, if applicable. (Form 15 Official Agent Appointment Form)

Registration vs. Nomination

Please note that registration is a separate process from the formal nomination period. Registration allows you to begin your financial campaign; however, you must still file your Nomination Papers during the official window in September to ensure your name appears on the ballot.
